The first and foremost disadvantage of traveling to Southern India is the climate. Even if you are traveling to the east or west coast of the country, the weather conditions are not good all year- round. There are certain monsoons in the month of February and June and it becomes extremely humid and hot in these months. Therefore, the best time and region to plan your trip is between the month of March and May, when the weather is pleasant, but not as hot as the monsoons.

The second major disadvantage of traveling to Southern India is the language barrier. Although English is the mother tongue of the majority of people in India, there are several parts of the country where locals do not speak English as their first language. In the state of Tamil Nadu, for instance, Tamil learners are required to take English classes. This can be a disadvantage as Tamil speakers will find it hard to get conversational English. So, if you want to make your journey smooth and easy, consider taking the help of an English-speaking travel company or an English tutor. With the help of an English tutor, you can learn proper spoken English, in addition, to learn several languages.

While traveling to Southern India, there are also many other things to consider apart from the weather. For instance, during monsoons, the beaches become extremely busy. Thus, it is advisable to avoid traveling during these periods. As there will be fewer chances of visiting beaches while traveling to Southern India, you can also consider visiting the backwaters of Kerala or the wonderful backwater destinations of West Bengal and Assam. You will get to enjoy a truly refreshing experience by traveling to these beautiful states during your trip to India.

There are many nice sightseeing places. Taking one such place as an example is Kanyakumari. It is the southernmost point of peninsular India and the meeting point of three oceans-the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean. It is famous for its beautiful views of sunrise and sunset over the waters.

Since there will be less crowded on the beaches during monsoons, traveling to Southern India can also be a relaxing experience. Apart from the beaches and backwaters, you will also find rich flora and fauna in the hill stations. Hill stations are also preferred by those traveling to Southern India during monsoons, for this reason, it is advised that you should carry some plant medicine with you during your journey. In addition to all these points, another important factor that you need to consider is the budget. Even though the tourist destinations are incredible and beautiful, they are also quite expensive. Therefore, if you are traveling on a tight budget, you should also consider planning your trip before your arrival date.

Moreover, even if you have decided to spend part of your holiday in India, do not forget that the best time to visit the country is in the monsoons. So, you should also plan your holiday before the onset of the monsoon in India. As we said earlier, exploring the various places in India will add some special value to your holidays, so do not miss this opportunity.
